About

Carmen specialises in Māori legal matters, working with clients on matters related to Te Ture Whenua Māori, resource management and the Waitangi Tribunal.

Carmen completed her law degree at The University of Waikato’s Te Piringa Faculty of Law in 2019, with a major in Te Reo Māori, of which she is a fluent and passionate speaker.

Carmen strives to provide excellence – Whāia te iti Kahurangi – in all areas of her mahi, and enjoys working in the team environment at McCaw Lewis to support the endeavours of her clients.

Carmen was born and raised in Gisborne and is very proud of where she comes from and to be Māori. Her motivation is her three daughters, after she became a mum of three at 21 years of age. Carmen is a fiercely dedicated māmā and her purpose in life is to set the best example for her tamariki and show them that nothing is impossible.

Carmen joined the McCaw Lewis whānau in 2021.
