Jessica Middleton Promoted to Senior Associate

We are delighted to announce Jessica Middleton’s promotion to Senior Associate.

Jess joined the McCaw Lewis whānau in 2018, and has worked on commercial matters for a variety of clients, with a particular interest in intellectual property matters, franchise agreements and Māori commercial issues.

Jess has developed her Māori Commercial work more over the last year, working with iwi entities from Ngāti Hauā, Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki, Tainui Group Holdings and Rangitāne o Wairarapa Tamaki nui-ā-Rua, and gaining a profile in that space. “I’ve also been really proud to work quite a bit with Habitat for Humanity on a few exciting projects” said Jess.

Her promotion reflects Jess’ talent as a lawyer, commitment to her clients, and the important role she plays in the firm’s commercial practise and wider McCaw Lewis whānau. We would also like to acknowledge her contribution as a Trustee of the McCaw Lewis Foundation.

Director Laura Monahan, who co-leads our commercial practise, said "Jess has shown her potential as a leader and I feel very lucky to have her support and skills in our team. Her legal work is outstanding and, just as importantly, Jess is confident, kind, and generous to clients, our team and the wider McCaw Lewis whānau."

Of her promotion, Jess says she’s looking forward to “stepping into more of a leadership role, both in my team and the wider firm. I’m excited to have an opportunity to further develop those skills, to bring out the best in myself and the people I work with.”
