Kaupapa Māori Moot Finals at Te Piringa
We were proud to sponsor the Kaupapa Māori Moot Finals at The Faculty of Law – Te Piringa last week. The Competition gives tauira Māori the opportunity to moot on a relevant Māori legal issue and competitors can moot in either English or Te Reo Māori.
The competition was impressive, showcasing the high calibre of Māori legal minds at Te Piringa. Our own Director Aidan Warren acted as one of thee judges alongside Judge Craig Coxhead and Hemaima Rauputu (both McCaw Lewis alumni).
The overall competition winner was Te Uranga Royal. The winner of the McCaw Lewis Prize for Best Mooter in Te Reo Māori was Waimirirangi Heta-Cooper. Winner of Most Promising Mooter was Melissa Noanoa.
Congratulations to all the competitors for making it to the finals!
