Jonathan Aquilina, Laura Monahan and Dale Thomas Promoted
The Directors are very pleased to announce three senior appointments within the McCaw Lewis whānau. Jonathan Aquilina has been appointed to Special Counsel, while Laura Monahan and Dale Thomas have both been appointed to Managing Associate.
Jonathan Aquilina is a member of our Commercial Team and joined the firm in 2014. The appointment to Special Counsel recognises his expert skills and experience in advising on complex construction, engineering and property development matters. Jonathan says he’s delighted to have been promoted to Special Counsel, adding: “construction law has always been a passion of mine and I look forward to using the role as a platform to further develop my expertise and profile in this growing area.”
Laura Monahan joined McCaw Lewis in 2012 and is a member of our Commercial Team. Her appointment to Managing Associate acknowledges Laura’s skill and ability to assist with the firm’s management. Laura is excited for the opportunity to get behind her clients and the firm in a leadership role. She says, “I’m passionate about McCaw Lewis and about working with our client whānau. I’m looking forward to the challenge of this new role; to assisting with the management of our highly skilled Commercial team, while continuing to work with our clients to help them to achieve their business goals”.
Dale Thomas is a member of our Property Team and joined the McCaw Lewis whānau in 2015. Dale’s appointment to Managing Associate recognises his growing leadership role within the firm. Dale has developed a broad range of skills working across the Property, Asset Planning and Commercial Teams on projects involving iwi property interests, farm succession, syndication and leasehold issues. Dale is honoured to be given the opportunity to step up and assist with the management of the nationally-renowned McCaw Lewis Property Team. “Being part of a successful and fun team of truly good people is the reason I’m so excited about this next step” he said.
