Newly appointed Judge Kiriana Tan sworn in

We wish to congratulate Judge Kiriana Tan who was sworn in as a District Court Judge on Tuesday. In a packed Hamilton courtroom, friends and whānau paid tribute to Kiriana's courage and her passion for advocating for those in need.

Kiriana studied law at the University of Waikato - Te Piringa Faculty of Law and was admitted to the bar in 1998. She joined the McCaw Lewis whānau in the early 2000s, and was an Associate with the firm when she left to work as a barrister sole in 2008.

Director Aidan Warren spoke at the occasion on behalf of Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa (The Māori Law Society).
