About
Amanda provides an understanding ear and practical legal advice to clients and their wider families in what are often difficult circumstances. She advises private clients and their various entities on the structuring of their assets, and works with accountants and other advisers to develop solutions that give effect to her client’s wishes.
Amanda has experience working through complicated structures and complicated family dynamics. Her experience includes time at a top-tier national Australian law firm, working in their banking and finance team, and assisting a wide range of commercial and property clients during her years at McCaw Lewis.
Amanda provides expert insight into the most up-to-date changes in the law. She has presented to a range of external referrers and clients on the Trusts Act 2019, and had articles published in the Company and Securities Law Bulletin.
Amanda grew up in Hamilton. She loves to travel and managed a brief jaunt to the University of Copenhagen in Denmark for a semester as part of her study at the University of Waikato. She also lived in sunny Perth for five years. She has two young boys that keep her busy in her free time.
Amanda believes in giving back to the community. She is a trustee of ConneXu, a significant charitable trust established to provide disability support services; Angel Casts, a registered charity supporting parents, family and whānau through the loss of a child; and Age Concern Waikato, an organisation dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older people. She is also a member of the Auckland District Law Society trust law committee.
Amanda started at McCaw Lewis in 2009 as a graduate and returned in 2017 after her stint overseas. She was appointed as a Director of the firm in 2020.
