Hakaraia assists on a range of different matters, working with the firm’s Kahurangi team who specialise in Te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ture whenua Māori.  He is an eager learner and strives for excellence in all areas of his mahi.

Hakaraia has completed his studies of a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at The University of Waikato and is set to graduate in 2024. He is currently working towards completing his Professional Legal studies.

Outside of work, you’ll often find him training which has given him the opportunity to be a part of the Chiefs U20 team and the Waikato wider training squad.

Hakaraia joined the McCaw Lewis whānau as a law clerk in 2022.
